German Rex is a medium sized cat with a medium tall, strong and muscular body. The back is straight shoulders to root of tail. The tail is medium length and rounded tip. The head is rounded, ringing in the intermediate broad, strongly developed cheeks, and nose, is lined with a clear indentation. |
German Rex is the world's remaining few dozen. Germany, Switzerland and Finland, and possibly some of the former Soviet bloc territory. Currently the only purely real European rex cat breeds are threatened with extinction. |
The first photographed german rex package Munk, was born in 1930 or 1931 in Königsberg in East Prussia, now Kaliningrad region, where at least one individual was taken to a hospital in Berlin Hufeland area in the late 1940s. |
